The M3 group is looking for 2 highly motivated graduate students

- Thermomechanical behavior of TRISO particle fuel
○Develop a model in the BISON code (https://bison.inl.gov/SitePages/Home.aspx) for modeling thermomechanical behavior and fission product evolution in TRISO particle fuels.
○Carry out BISON simulations for fuel performance analysis and to optimize TRISO fuel design.
- Diffusion in concentrated complex alloys
○Develop machine learning based Monte Carlo method for defect diffusion in concentrated complex alloys
○Investigate transport and phase stability in these alloys in far-from-equilibrium conditions, e.g., under radiation
The M3 group does not have postdoc opening right now but in the long term is interested in hiring a postdoc with the expertise in mesoscopic modeling (e.g., phase field) of electrochemical reactions.
